As part of the on-going project 'Towards inclusive development in Myanmar', the sixth Steering Committee Meeting on Myanmar Enterprise Monitoring System (MEMS) took place at the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) Office in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.
During the meeting the Steering Committee reviewed the progress and implementation of the project workplan and discussed ongoing and upcoming activities such as the implementation of the 2019 quantitative survey, in-depth studies based on the survey results, and training courses for CSO staff in the scope of both components – the MEMS and the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) - of the project.
The meeting was opened by U San Myint, Director General of the CSO, and followed by address speeches from Ambassador John Nielsen of the Embassy of Denmark and Professor Finn Tarp representing UNU-WIDER and the University of Copenhagen.
