The Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) and UNU-WIDER are co-organizing a workshop on 16 November to present and discuss the findings of the report 'Viet Nam 2012 Social Accounting Matrix (SAM)'.
The report is an important contribution to the process of strengthening the analytical foundation for the economic reform process in Viet Nam. It therefore remains a key reference on the economy of Viet Nam, as well as the starting point for subsequent improvements and refinements.
The workshop will feature presentations from representatives of key sectors set to play an important role in the Vietnamese economy. Doan Xuan Hoa of the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development will address the issue of linkages and value chains in the food processing sector, and Do Cam Tho from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will discuss the touristic projections for 2020.
The report launch will attract participation by representatives from the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam, experts at local research institutes and universities, as well as representatives of state agencies.
