Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development visits UNU-WIDER


Director Finn Tarp today welcomed Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen to the UNU-WIDER offices in Helsinki. Part of ongoing collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, it was the Minister’s first visit to the Institute. The meeting facilitated discussion on UNU-WIDER’s current work programme as well as broader development priorities.

Also visiting were Under-Secretary of State (Development Cooperation and Development Policy) Elina Kalkku, Special Advisor to the Minister Pasi Rajala, UNU-WIDER Board member and Deputy Director (Department for Africa and the Middle East) Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, and Deputy Director and Senior Adviser (UN Affairs Economic and Social Sector) Heli Mikkola, here with Deputy Director/Chief Economist Tony Addison, Chief of Administrative and Programme Services Paul Silfvenius, Research Fellow Rachel Gisselquist and Programme Officer Dominik Etienne.
