Smriti Sharma is a Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. Her research interests are in behavioral economics, development economics, and labour economics.
Her research focuses on the importance of behavioral traits and socioemotional skills as both predictors and outcomes in the process of economic development. She also works on topics related to caste and gender-based discrimination. Her research is mainly based on India and Vietnam. Smriti has presented her research widely at various conferences and invited seminars, and published in peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Comparative Economics, Small Business Economics, Journal of Economic Psychology, and Economic and Political Weekly.
