UNU-WIDER at the workshop on longitudinal and administrative data for distributional analyses


Workshop focusing on the use of longitudinal and administrative microdata for distributional analysis, organized by the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) was held at the University of Essex on 28th-30th October 2019.

The forum brought together around 50 leading international academics from a range of backgrounds, interests, perspectives and analytical approaches – including lifecourse analysis and microsimulation modelling.

As part of the programme Maria Jouste, UNU-WIDER Research assistant, gave a presentation on 'The effects of personal income tax reform on taxable income in Uganda'.

Jukka Pirttilä, UNU-WIDER Non-resident senior research fellow, gave a presentation in the forum on 'Accessing and using administrative data in African countries for distributional analysis'.

The presentations were part of the collaborative research project between Uganda Revenue Authority and UNU-WIDER.
