Miguel Nino-Zarazua and Rachel Gisselquist presenting to Finland's Development Policy Committee


Miguel Niño-Zarazúa, Non-Resident Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER, and Rachel M. Gisselquist, Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER are presenting to the Development Policy Committee of Finland on 2 September 2021 at 14:00 (UTC+3). 

The subject of Dr. Niño-Zarazúa's presentation is ‘Set of analytical tools that help development agencies track and measure how effective their operations, programmes and projects are at reducing income and other dimensions of inequalities in partner countries’. Dr. Gisselquist is discussing her work related to inequality, ethnicicity and democracy issues in sub-Saharan Africa. 

The Development Policy Committee is an advisory body appointed by the Government. Its members represent the parliamentary parties, interest groups and NGOs, as well as researchers.

The Committee monitors and evaluates Finland’s activities in policy areas with an impact on developing countries. It assesses the quality and effectiveness of development cooperation and follows the level of official development cooperation appropriations. The Committee is also active in promoting debate on development issues in Finland.
