Course on advanced poverty analysis


As part of the programme Inclusive Growth in Mozambique, researchers Vincenzo Salvucci and José Cardoso, will deliver a 5-day training course on advanced poverty analysis for officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Mozambique along with students from the University of Eduardo Mondlane. The training takes place 4–8 March, at the Centre of Economics and Management Studies (CEEG), in Maputo.

This course will provide tools to do advanced poverty analysis. It includes an overview on development and poverty and the participants will learn about the poverty profile, the determinants of poverty and methodologies to estimate costs of basic needs, based on the Fourth National Poverty Assessment. Finally, they will learn about multidimensional poverty analysis.

The training includes theory and practical classes; participants will be tasked with solving exercises alone or in a group.
